Statesmen 35th in Final Fall Bushnell Golfweek Poll

Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s golf team received a boost from the monotony of midseason workouts Friday as the final fall Bushnell Golfweek Coaches’ Poll was released.

The program moves up to #35 in the unofficial poll produced by the Golf Coaches Association of America, jumping two spots from last month.

The Statesmen are one of four representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the poll, including #11 Grand View, #18 Mount Mercy, and #22 Missouri Valley. Oklahoma City, Dalton State (Ga.), British Columbia, Texas Wesleyan, and Wayland Baptist (Texas) make up the NAIA’s top five.

In seven fall tournaments, William Penn finished no lower than sixth place; the team managed three wins, one runner-up placing, and two third-place finishes.
