Season Ends For Varsity Volleyball

Marion- The season came to an end for the Oskaloosa Varsity Volleyball team on Tuesday night at the hands of #3 Marion.

Marion defeated the Indians 12-25, 9-25, 9-25 defeat in the Regional Final.The loss finishes the Indians at 16-23 for the season. One win away from the State Tournament, for the third time in five seasons, the Indians finish in the top-16 teams in 4A once again.

Oskaloosa Head Coach Jennifer Comfort said, “Coming into the Regional Final, I believe we had the team prepared, but our game plan never got going as Marion was a highly skilled team. Even though the girls battled, which I was proud of, it was too tough of a fight. Both teams had earned their way into the match, but Marion executed at a higher level and won, moving on to their third straight State Tournament. It is very difficult to realize this group of seniors, Aubrey Miller, Cara Roquet, Summer Smith, Leah VanMaanen, and Alexis Westercamp, have finished their Oskaloosa Volleyball careers. They are a wonderful group of young ladies and have done a lot for the program in their four years. They will be missed!”

Coach Comfort said, “A big thank you to all the fans who traveled to Marion to support these hard working young women. We have appreciated the support of our fans all year and thank them for all the cheers!”
