Osky News added features December 8, 2010

Osky News added some new features, and brought some back in an attempt to help make the site even more useful for everyone.

Nearly a week ago we started adding Obituaries to the site, and those are available by clicking on the appropriate button on the red bar near the top of the page.

Just today, local traffic cameras from the Iowa DOT were added so that residents can see what road conditions are like for themselves before traveling. A radar and road conditions map were added as well, to help keep residents informed about conditions. This is done to help with the safety of local residents in mind.

Our classifieds and public notices are moved under the Local Resources tab on the site as well. Currently our classifieds have not attracted many users, but we hope at some point this free service will grow and help out those in the area.

The movie listings have made a return as well. You can watch the trailer for the movies showing this week at our local theaters.

Osky News will continue to evolve and attempt to offer news and information that best serves the community of Oskaloosa and Mahaska County and our neighbors. If you have any questions, comments, concerns or wish to volunteer in any way please email us at info@oskynews.org.
