William Penn University is hosting a Visit Day for nurses interested in learning more about the William Penn University RN to BSN degree program. It will be held Friday, April 1 from 10:45 am–1:00 pm on the Oskaloosa campus. The RN to BSN Nursing program, under the leadership of Director Brenda Duree, received national accreditation in May 2015. The program, underwent major revisions when Brenda joined the team of dedicated faculty and students at William Penn in 2012.

During this event, Duree will meet with potential students to talk about the program and answer any questions. Visitors will also be given a presentation about the admissions and financial aid process. Lunch will be provided in the university dining hall, as well as a tour of William Penn’s beautiful campus. As a thank-you for attending, participants will receive a free t-shirt. The application fee will be waived for those that apply to the RN-BSN program on the day of the visit.

The William Penn Nursing Program holds classes just one day a week at both the Oskaloosa and Clive campuses, allowing students to continue working. Cohorts have also been added at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa and Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. Coursework focuses on the complexities of decision-making when providing professional nursing care. Students enhance their leadership skills that are essential to nursing practice in a diverse and ever-changing healthcare environment. In addition, students develop communication skills necessary for the business environment of the health care setting. The nursing program provides students with the focus and knowledge to make important decisions about a patient’s health in a variety of nursing situations.
