MAHASKA COUNTY – Mahaska Health Partnership will host a Business After Hours on Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 4 to 6 pm to introduce new Medical Staff members.

“We have had five new providers join us recently and we want to give the community an opportunity to meet them,” MHP CEO Jay Christensen said. “When a person does not have a relationship with a primary care provider, they are less likely to get routine healthcare. Our hope in hosting this event is for the public to get to know our newest providers in an informal setting.”

MHP’s newest providers include Family Practice Physician Case Everett, MD, who will also be delivering babies at MHP. Dr. Everett is a North Mahaska graduate with a lot of family in the area so he is excited to be home. During his time away from Iowa, Dr. Everett served as a primary care provider on an Air Force base in Georgia and completed a Family Practice and obstetrics residency in Kansas City.

Family Nurse Practitioner Tonya Johannes, ARNP-BC, is another primary care provider. Johannes has been working as MHP’s Education Coordinator for the past three years as she attended school for her Master’s of Science in Nursing. Johannes is originally from Albia, Iowa, and continues to teach future nurses at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa.

Joining the Hospitalist program is Robyn Griffiths, ARNP-C, who is originally from Hedrick, Iowa. Robyn practices with fellow Hospitalists Anne Whitis, MD; Deb Buckler, DO; Lisa Ruckman, MD; and Ben Oldson, DO. As a Hospitalist, Robyn puts her many years of experience as a nurse to good use performing daily rounds, consulting with patients, families and nurses while focusing on patients’ immediate needs during their hospital stay.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Heather Cadwell joins CRNAs Frank Gorski and Alan Pearson in MHP’s Surgical Services to provide anesthesia services. Cadwell is originally from Manillo, Iowa. Cadwell decided to pursue her Master’s of Science in Nurse Anesthesia after seeing how a CRNA could change a situation from stressful to relaxing in the patient care setting.

Finally, Kim Rutledge is anticipated to join MHP as a Family Nurse Practice in the Medical Group – Walk-In this March. Rutledge has worked at MHP for the past four years as she studied towards her advanced degree. Rutledge will work alongside Family Nurse Practitioner Eva Sietsema, who currently leads Walk-In, which is open seven days a week.

“We’re proud of the healthcare services we’re able to offer our community; we hope you’ll take this opportunity to meet some of the outstanding professionals who will be caring for you,” Christensen shared.

MHP’s Business After Hours will be hosted in the Cedar Bluff Learning Center, entrance #3 on the MHP campus in Oskaloosa. The come-and-go event will be hosted from 4-6 pm with hors d’oeuvres and all new providers in attendance to meet with guests.
