Habitiat For Humanity Breaks Ground On New Home
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Mahaska County Habitat for Humanity broke ground on its newest project this week.
The home will be located at 603 North D Street in Oskaloosa, and is being built in partnership with Angela Fenton and her three children.
The nonprofit Christian housing ministry started off the groundbreaking ceremony with a prayer, and was followed by a description of the Fenton’s future home. The home will be approximately 1600 square-feet and be built upon a concrete slab. It will feature two baths and four bedrooms.
Terry Anderson, with Mahaska County Habitat for Humanity, said the goal is to be weather-tight before the weather gets nasty.
A variance meeting is being held October 2nd to discuss the needed variances. This happens before the permits are issued for construction to begin.
