Ten Pin Turkey Roll(s) Into Third Year
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Mixing and mingling, that’s the normal at any public event, but Friday night’s Ten Pin Turkey Roll helped make new friends.
So, Friday night Imagine the Possibilities and the Christian Opportunity Center hosted their third annual event, and some old friends and some new ones got to once again meet up for an evening of fun.
This year, participants once again gathered at Mahaska Bowl for the night of bowling and silent auction. The funds raised go to the above listed organizations.
Jeff Morris, Executive Director of Imagine the Possibilities said that this year’s event was more reminiscent of the first year. “Last year we decided to break out and have two sessions. One that was really family oriented.” That session included family fun and food. The second session last year was strictly bowling. “We missed the being together all at the same time, so we brought it all back together.”
Participants for the Ten Pin Turkey Roll are clients of the COC and Imagine the Possibilities, along with members from the community. A couple of individuals take some time to pair up the teams, and a business helps by sponsoring a lane.
The funds raised then go to the two organizations to help them offset costs. For Imagine the Possibilities, that money is used in activities for its clients when gaps in funding arise. “We look for opportunities like this to be able to do special events or adaptive equipment for someone who needs specialized equipment,” said Morris.
