Oskaloosa Volleyball Opens Season

Newton, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Volleyball team headed to Newton on Tuesday for a 6-team tournament where the ladies walked away with a 3 to 2 record.

The Indians squared off first against Dowling Catholic, ranked number 10 in the 5A Division. Dowling proved to be too much and Oskaloosa fell, 16-21 and 11-21.

Next up for the squad was ADM, with the Indians pulling off the win in three sets; 21-17, 16-21 and 15-12.

Against Carlisle, the wins came again with 21-19 and 21-12 sets, and again winning against Knoxville 21-17, 21-23 and 15-9.

The Indians dropped their last sets against the host school of Newton, falling 21-12, 16-21 and 10-15.

Next up for the team is Indianola this evening the 23rd. Freshmen and JV play at 6 pm and the Varsity takes to the court at 7:30 pm.
