William Penn University plans next alumni and friends trip
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The alumni office is planning a trip to Rwanda for January/February 2013. All alumni and community members, faculty, staff, along with their family and friends, are invited to join us. We are in the early planning stages, however, this we know for sure:
The cost will be $4,000 per person (with double occupancy). This fee includes: airfare, lodging, 2/3 of your meals, ground transportation, daily tours and excursions as well as a safari.
We must have at least 10 participants to keep the trip affordable for all. With 10 participants we become eligible for group rates.
The trip will take place in late January or early February 2013. Exact dates are not available at this time.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about Rwanda and the trip are invited to an informational meeting being held on Tuesday, June 5 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Mahaska State Bank Room of the Union. This is strictly an informational meeting to learn about the trip and what to expect. President Ann Fields will be there to show pictures of her past trips and to talk about the culture, climate and government. She will also talk about the genocide and how this beautiful country has used forgiveness to move forward. This alumni trip will be far more than just an excursion to another continent; it is an opportunity to be completely immersed in its culture!
More information will follow as the trip is being organized. We encourage everyone to attend the informational meeting. Family and friends are welcome as well!
