William Penn University United World Club To Hold Silent Auction
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The William Penn University United World Club is holding a silent auction on Sunday, February 26 from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Musco Technology Center, located on the northwest corner of campus. Proceeds from the auction will go toward the United World Club trip to the National Model United Nations in New York, New York. Eight members of the club, along with their advisors Omaira Gibens and Karolyn Wojtowicz, will travel to New York the first week of April to represent the country of Laos as they discuss global issues with over 5,000 participants from other colleges and universities, both nationally and internationally. While there, students will get a firsthand lesson on the role the United Nations plays in world politics, policies, and conflict resolution.
The United World Club of William Penn University consists of students of various cultural backgrounds who are either attending William Penn University as an international student or are American citizens of international descent.
Tickets for the event are $5.00 per person and are available at the Oskaloosa Chamber of Commerce and the William Penn University Bookstore. Lunch will be served and auction items include themed gift baskets with items donated from local retailers and restaurants. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this event to help raise support the United World Club. Tickets will be available at the door as well.
