The Oskaloosa Barnstormers About To Arrive, Kick Off Event On Sunday

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Iowa Barnstormers will be known for at least a couple of weeks as the Oskaloosa Barnstormers. Your chance to get a shirt saying that, and being able to get it autographed, will be just one of many special events Oskaloosa has to look forward to.

Jon Sullivian, Director of the Oskaloosa Chamber and Development Group, is hoping to have people enter the mall near the Pizza Ranch entrance. There they can make their way towards center court for an opportunity to meet the team, after the team has supper at Napoli’s.

The event will be held in the center court and will begin at 5:00 pm. The Barnstormers players, coaches, and members of the dance team will be on hand to meet and greet fans and sign autographs.

Coach Hohensee, in a press release stated, “We felt that it was very important to create an atmosphere where our players could bond quickly as a team. Taking our camp on the road to Oskaloosa will allow us to accomplish just that. The facilities at William Penn are top notch and the community support has been outstanding. Now it’s time for us to go to work.”

The Barnstormers practice will be open to the public from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the PAC starting on the 19th. The team requests that no still or video cameras be used during practice. In the highly competitive environment of professional sports, an innocent clip may give away an important play or procedure to an eagle eyed opponent.
