Atchinson Sentenced To 25 Years

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Eighth Judicial Judge James Blomgren sentenced Christopher Allen Atchinson to a term not exceeding 25 years in a Mahaska County courtroom on January 10, 2012.

The sentence handed down also states Atchinson shall serve a minimum of 70% of the sentence imposed. He will also pay costs of prosecution and court appointed attorney fees in an amount not to exceed $3,600.

Atchinson will be delivered by the Sheriff to facilities in Oakdale, Iowa.

Upon release from prison, defendant shall register on the Sex Offender Registry and be committed to the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections for the remainder of defendant’s life. Atchinson will also submit to DNA profiling.

Atchinson was convicted of sexual abuse in the second degree.
