Local Boy Scout Helps Bring The Peace Light From Bethlehem To Oskaloosa

Oskaloosa, Iowa – For the past 10 years, a project has been underway to spread the peace light across the North American continent from a continuous flame in Bethlehem.
On November 29th, 2011 the light landed in New York via Austrian Air, and from there the light has spread across the country until it got to Des Moines.
That’s where local Boy Scout CJ Harper stepped in to help bring the light to Oskaloosa. Harper, a member of Troop 71 here in Oskaloosa, picked up the light in Des Moines on Wednesday.
After leaving the lantern at a church in Altoona, CJ brought the light to Oskaloosa, where he currently plans to share the light with two churches in the Oskaloosa area, and an additional church in Pella.
CJ would like to share the light with any other churches or individuals that are interested in having their Christmas lights lit with the light of Bethlehem. You can contact Amy at 641-660-9545 for further information.
