Branstad-Reynolds administration launches new, more user-friendly Iowa.gov

State of Iowa Seal

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Branstad today unveiled the new, more user-friendly Iowa.gov. The new look and feel follows Gov. Branstad’s signing of Executive Order 73, which called for the state to overhaul its Web portal to create a more effective and efficient online experience for visitors.

“I am pleased to announce the new Iowa.gov, which has a new look with different colors and a brighter, cleaner appearance,” said Branstad. “The new Iowa.gov has implemented automatic screen size recognition that adjusts the layout and image size for optimal viewing on four different screen sizes. This feature creates a better user experience for those accessing our state’s Web site from mobile devices.”

The new Iowa.gov was built by Iowa Interactive, LLC using their self-funded model.

Branstad continued, “Lieutenant Governor Reynolds and I believe a user-friendly Web portal is an essential service for the people of Iowa. This first step in Iowa’s Web portal overhaul will be followed by recommendations from Iowa’s Web Standardization Committee for other changes to upgrade our online presence.”
