OMS Students Join Mayor Krutzfeldt In Proclamation For Red Ribbon Week

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Gathering together before class started, members of the Oskaloosa Middle School Student Council, Principle Andy Hotek along with Oskaloosa Mayor Dave Krutzfeldt gathered for a proclamation signing.

Students will be doing various activities throughout the week. One of the various activities includes Wednesday being “Spirit Day” since that is the day of the Oskaloosa football home playoff game against Carlisle. Thursday will have each student receiving a red ribbon provided by the Oskaloosa Police Department.

Now, Therefore, Be It resolved that, I, Dave Krutzfeldt, Mayor of the City of Oskaloosa, Iowa, do hereby proclaim October 23-31, 2011, as Red Ribbon Week, and encourage citizens to participate in drug prevention education activities, not only during Red Ribbon Week, but all year long, making a visible statement that we are strongly committed to a drug-free City of Oskaloosa, Iowa.
