Kim Reynolds makes campaign stop at William Penn

Lt Governor candidate Kim Reynolds (R) made a stop today at William Penn University. She spoke today versus Governor Branstad as a scheduling conflict forced the change.

She started off with her history in politics from her start in her home area of Osceola to her Iowa State Senate position she currently holds while running with Terry Branstad for Iowa’s top job.

Kim Reyonolds spoke of their goal to “create 200,000 new jobs for Iowans in the next 5 years. Raising family incomes by 25%, and reducing the cost of government by 15% and restoring education back to it’s leadership position” Reynolds went on to state “One of the ways we hope to bring 200,000 new jobs to the State of Iowa over 5 years, it is a very ambitious agenda, but it is something you need to set your sights high and you need to work hard to make it happen.” Reynolds explained “We want to reduce the tax burden on commercial property taxes, going to cut the corporate income tax in half”

After nearly 20 minutes of plans by the former governor and their overall plan, Ms. Reynolds took questions from the audience.

Terry Brandstad (R) and Kim Reynolds are facing off against current Governor Chet Culver (D) and Lt Governor Patty Judge. Culver’s campaign had been working hard to overcome a large deficit in recent polls. The polls for the Iowa Governor’s job open’s in less than 27 days.
