Central’s Ziskovsky on academic all-America squad

Central College

PELLA—Central College senior Jill Ziskovsky (Dallas Center, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America women’s track and field/cross country team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Ziskovsky is a first-team honoree.

A double major in communication studies and Spanish, Ziskovsky posted a 3.94 cumulative grade point average. She received first-team all-district recognition earlier this month and was named a second-team CoSIDA academic all-American honoree in 2010. She is a three-time academic all-Iowa Conference pick.

Ziskovsky is the sixth student-athlete from Central’s track and field programs to receive the honor. Central’s last selection was Ben Bollard in 2007.

Ziskovsky has earned all-America distinction seven times in her career. At the NCAA championships in May she finished fifth in the heptathlon and second as part of the record-breaking 4×400-meter relay squad.
