Obituary:
David Devere Wright was born April 27, 1943 in Jefferson, Iowa the son of Cleo and Berdene (Kuebler) Wright.
He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Jefferson High School with the Class of 1961. On May 20, 1966 he was united in marriage to Diane Dreher in South Dakota. The couple lived in Storm Lake, Iowa for several years, where Dave was a dredge operator. In 1971 they moved to Swan. Dave was a tower crane operator for Champion Crane for over 20 years prior to his retirement. In his spare time, Dave attended auctions and sales and the sprint car races in Knoxville. He also liked fishing and working on cars. In his younger days, Dave played fast pitch softball, coon hunted and drag raced cars. Dave’s greatest joys were spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and teasing his friends and family.
Dave passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 68 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Chad.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Diane; his son, David of Longmont, CO; daughter, Julie Kellner (Kevin) of West Des Moines; grandchildren: Colin & Anna Wright, Peyton, Elly & Caitlin Kellner and Madison, Makenna & Devon Wright; three sisters: Arlene Johnson of Pasadena, Texas and Betty Jo Blackburn and Rita Peterson both of Jefferson, Iowa and many other family members and friends.
