LuAnn Lee

Oskaloosa. LuAnn Lee, 85, of Oskaloosa died June 7, 2011, at home in Oskaloosa. She was born December 23, 1925, at Gorin, Missouri, the daughter of Elmer and Beatrice Thomas Snelling. She graduated from Gorin (MO) High School with the class of 1943. On September 23, 1945, she was united in marriage to Rex E. Lee at Oskaloosa, and he died February 7, 1998. LuAnn was a very devoted wife and always very proud of their marriage. LuAnn and Rex moved to Yuma, Arizona, and she worked as an office manager in a counseling facility for many years. In December of 1996, they moved back to Oskaloosa. LuAnn enjoyed attending and being involved in the Fellowship Bible Church in Oskaloosa. She also enjoyed cooking and visiting with people, and will be remembered as being very hospitable and always looking forward to company.

She is survived by nieces, nephews and close friends.

Besides her husband, LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters: Nancy Snodgrass and Anabel Chambers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Rodney DeRonde officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Open visitation will begin Friday after 10 a.m. and be open until 6 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. Memorials may be made to Fellowship Bible Church Missions.
