Visitation: Will begin at 9:30 a.m., Saturday morning, June 11, 2011 at Garland-Van Arkel Langkamp Funeral Chapel; the family will be present from 9:30 a.m. to service time to greet friends and relatives.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday morning, June 11, 2011 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald DeGlopper officiating.
Interment: Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Bettie died Friday evening at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Ottumwa.
Bettie was born August 27, 1923 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Harry Wilbur and Dessie (Clarkson) Cummings. She was a 1942 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. Bettie married George Edwin Dursky on May 5, 1945 in Oskaloosa. She was a devoted wife, mother and housewife throughout her life in Evans, Iowa.
Her family includes a son, Ed (Deb) Dursky of Ottumwa; five grandchildren: Renee (Baker) Rawlins of Philadelphia, PA, Chris (Diana) Duncan of Grinnell, IA, Steve (Barbara Ann) Duncan of Ottumwa, IA, Joey (Julie Ann) Appleby of Ravenna, KY and Lisa Morgan of Des Moines, IA; and five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Bettie was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers: Frank Cummings of Dearborn, MI and John Cummings of Forsyth, MO.
