Oskaloosa Lions Club Present Award for “Name the Lion Contest”

Oskaloosa Lions Club Treasurer John Stearns (right) and the Oskaloosa Lions Club mascot presented an award to Kate Van Donselaar for providing the winning name in the “Name the Lion Contest.” Stearns, store manager of Oskaloosa Fareway, is a community advisor for the third and fourth graders at Oskaloosa Christian School. He is also a charter member of the newly formed Oskaloosa Lions Club and asked the students to help the Lions choose a name for their new mascot. Van Donselaar presented the winning name of Dan De Lion. Oskaloosa Lions Club meets the second Tuesday and the fourth Thursday of each month at the Oskaloosa Pizza Ranch.
