Senior Showcase at Eddyville-Blakesburg High School

Different groups of seniors from Eddyville-Blakesburg High School were displaying their work and individual accomplishments from FFA, 4-H, writing, digital photo displays and scrapbooks, poetry, and other physical projects such as art. These were all on display in the cafeteria of the high school on Friday April 1, 2011 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Last year was the first year for this event, with the event doubling in size for this year. “Studio Art is for students that have had 4 years of art, then they can display gallery style so that the community can come and see what they have accomplished.” stated Kate Proctor of Eddyville-Blakesburg Schools.

I asked senior Abbey Murphy if she intended to pursue art after high school. “Probably, maybe in my spare time. Not for a career.” She says that her favorite art medium is oil painting.
