Unscientific Poll Showing Interesting Results

Voting Booth

Our unscientific, early opinion poll of possible presidential candidates has been showing some interesting results.

With the poll being open just over a week now, Ron Paul seems to be a solid front runner at this point with Donald Trump coming in second. With candidates now joining the run for the White House, the next year in Iowa will be very exciting and tiring at the same time.

People become fatigued with politics and the candidates, and often times with one party. Having an incumbent candidate like the Democrats do with Barack Obama, and all the focus on a single party, can amplify that sense of fatigue even more, but it really is an honor to have first in the nation status with our caucus.

Osky News will continue to bring you important political news and fresh political insight from not only the local level, but also the county, state and federal levels, on issues in regards to Oskaloosa, Mahaska County and our surrounding area.

At a local event last night, we had willing local residents fill out a paper form of the same questions asked on the site, with the following results in order of most votes:

  1. Mike Huckabee
  2. Donald Trump
  3. Ron Paul
  4. Sarah Palin
  5. Newt Gingrich
  6. Herman Cain
  7. Jon Huntsman
  8. Mitch Daniels
  9. Haley Barbour
  10. Rick Santorum
  11. Tim Pawlenty
  12. Gary Johnson
