Mahaska Hospice Auxiliary Hosts Purse Sale March 21 and 22
Oskaloosa – The Mahaska Hospital Auxiliary is hosting a purse sale as a fundraising project on Monday, March 21 from 4 to 7 pm and Tuesday, March 22 from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. in the Cedar Bluff Learning Center (Entrance # 3), on the Mahaska Health Partnership Campus in Oskaloosa.
According to Mahaska Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop Manager Dorothy Vos, the fundraising company the Auxiliary is teaming up, “Purses 4 Nurses,” only works with hospitals. “There will be more than 100 handbags to choose from,” Vos said. “These purses are purchased from legitimate wholesales in New York. They do not sell any knock-offs. Other items offered are wallets, scarves and other accessories.”
According to Vos, there will be purses in a wide range of prices, from $24.95 to $49.95 per bag. “This company eliminates the middle man and passes the savings directly onto our customers. The hospital auxiliary gets 20% on each purse sold.”
The Mahaska Hospital Auxiliary is a volunteer organization with the purpose of helping to promote and advance the welfare of MHP and its mission statement. The Auxiliary was formed in 1955 and has provided support to the hospital through money raised by operating the Snack Bar/Gift Shop and holding fundraisers.
Vos said that through the years, the Auxiliary has helped purchase much needed medical equipment and support various hospital programs that benefit the community. “We do our best to make your visit at the hospital as comfortable as possible,” Vos said.
