OHSD presents ‘Blithe Spirit’ at George Daily

OHS Drama Thespian Troupe #228 presents 'Blithe Spirit' this Friday and Saturday night starting at 7:30 in George Daily Auditorium
The Oskaloosa High School Drama Thespian Troupe # 228 will be presenting their play ‘Blithe Spirit’ on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 7:30. The March 4-5 performances began with auditions that began when students arrived back from their break in January.
Cast for the play includes Amber Ringgenberg, Angela Hyland, Grant Carriker, Lyrie Morris, Gabe Burns, Megan Adams and Tressa Glass. It’s directed by Jessica Weinreich, set design by Aharon Moody. The costumes are designed by Kathy Akers and Jen Akers with Katie Akers being the Stage Manager.
Blithe Spirit is a comic play that was written by Noel Coward. Blithe Spirit takes its name from a poem written by Percy Bysshe Shelley titled ‘To a Skylark’.
The play revolves around a novelist and socialite who invited an eccentric medium to his house to conduct a séance, as he was looking for material for his next book.
As a result, the novelist ends up being haunted by the ghost of his first wife, who is temperamental about his current marriage and does her best to disrupt it.
The play was first seen in 1941, and the characters and setting are British in nature and from that era. You can expect some atmosphere that is traditionally thought of as British comedy that includes the use of some minor adult language and the simulation of the consumption of alcohol by the actors.
