Funnell-Wong Closes Fall with Second POW Honor

Oskaloosa–Kaedyn Funnell-Wong (Fr., Auckland, New Zealand, General Accounting) carded a pair of strong rounds, and for his efforts he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week Monday.

Funnell-Wong claimed his second career laurel after leading William Penn to fourth place at the season-ending Columbia Invitational last Monday and Tuesday.

The freshman opened up with a 74 on Monday (two birdies). He then dropped six strokes on Tuesday for a season-low three-under 68, which featured four birdies. Overall, he was tied for third out of 67 players for his best finish of the fall.

Funnell-Wong will enter the spring campaign with a 72.0 stroke average over 13 rounds. Each round was in the 60s or 70s with six coming under par. He was in the top 10 in each of his five tournament appearances.

The award is the second of the year for WPU.
