Five Receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete Awards

Oskaloosa–Five members of the William Penn women’s golf team were recognized for their academic achievements by being named 2024-2025 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Riley Burns (Sr., Edwardsville, Ill., Elementary Education) led the team with a 3.89 Grade Point Average, while Bliss Martin (Jr., Hamilton, Ill., Biology) followed at 3.88 as the spring semester began.

Behind them were Olivia Lange (Sr., Porta Westfalica, Germany, Business Management) (3.63), Peyton Ruble (So., Chariton, Iowa, Nursing) (3.59), and Emma Lawson (Sr., Rossville, Ind., Exercise Science) (3.51).

Both Lange and Martin are receiving the award for the second time, while Burns, Ruble, and Lawson are first-time recipients.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport’s eligibility paperwork.
