Martin Claims Heart’s Weekly Recognition
Oskaloosa–Erica Martin (Sr., Detroit, Mich., Sports Management) gave her implement another big ride last weekend and for her efforts she was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week Monday.
Martin garnered her first weekly award after again hitting the national-qualifying mark to lead William Penn last weekend.
The senior launched the shot put a distance of 43-9.75 to win the event at the Simpson Kip Janvrin Open. The distance was long enough to once again hit the ‘B’ standard.
Martin is currently topping the league in the shot put at 44-11, while also sitting in 21st in the hammer throw at 133-9.
The weekly laurel is the third for WPU this year.
