WPU Up to #4 in Fifth Poll
Oskaloosa–Riding a long winning streak with several wins over ranked foes, the William Penn men’s volleyball team moved to its best position of the year as the NAIA released its fifth top-15 poll Wednesday.
WPU (20-4, 13-3 Heart) improved one spot to #4 with 236 points; the ranking is the program’s highest of the year. The navy and gold have now been ranked for 18 consecutive ratings. Of note, Tuesday’s loss to Park did not factor into this week’s rating.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference continues to have six teams in the poll with all six all in the top 15. The Statesmen now lead the group, while Grand View is next at #5. Missouri Baptist leads the remaining quartet at #8, while Missouri Valley is #11, Park is #12, and Mount Mercy is #15.
The Master’s (Calif.) is now again first in the NAIA with 275 points and all 15 first-place votes. Vanguard (Calif.) has dropped to #2, while Ottawa (Ariz.) is #3 to round out the top five.
William Penn returns to Oskaloosa Friday to face Grand View in Heart action at 7 p.m.
