William Penn Closes Regular Season at Hoosier Classic

Indianapolis, Ind.–The Statesmen men’s bowling team wrapped up its regular season with the biggest tournament of the year as it competed at the Hoosier Classic last Saturday and Sunday.

WPU placed 56th out of 78 teams with 8,011 pins in six regular games and 15 Baker rounds. Mount Mercy paced qualifying with 9,451 pins, while #3 seed Lawrence Tech (Mich.) took the bracket play title.

Nolan Blessing of Marian (In.) was the top individual (531 total bowlers) with a 241.0 average (1,446 pins).

Bryce Keykal (Jr., Princeton, Minn., Education) guided the navy and gold with a 194.5 average, while Conor Fetherston (So., Dublin, Ireland, Software Engineering) also rolled in all six games with a 189.0 clip.

Noah Kidwell (Fr., Bettendorf, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering) led a trio of bowlers who started four games as he averaged 185.8 pins. Kody Sapp (Sr., Donnelson, Iowa, Industrial Technology), at 182.8, and Carter Boley (So., Grimes, Iowa, Engineering), at 176.3, also competed four times.

Garraty Richmond (Sr., Ottumwa, Iowa, New Media) (191.7) and Jared Smith (Sr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, General Accounting) (174.7) played in three rounds as well.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Topeka, Kan. Saturday and Sunday to compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship.
