Statesmen of the Week: Howard Huerta and Briana Admire

Oskaloosa–Football player Howard Huerta (Jr., Panorama City, Calif., Business Management) and women’s cross country runner Briana Admire (Fr., Galesburg, Ill., Nursing) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of August 28-September 3, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Huerta was a huge part of a Statesmen defense that did not allow Missouri Baptist to score an offensive point last Saturday. The junior intercepted two passes, both on WPU’s side of the field. He also recorded a pair of tackles.

In her collegiate debut, Admire led the Statesmen harriers at the Corridor Clash last Friday. She completed the 5K race in a time 21:36.7 to place 15th out of 71 competitors.
