Romero Wins Heart Award

Oskaloosa–Boston Romero (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev., Business Management) reached double-digit goals last week and his production netted a Heart of America Athletic Conferenc e Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honor Monday.

Romero won his first weekly award by scoring 10 goals during a pair of Statesmen wins last week.

The junior was incredibly effective in last Thursday’s victory over Taylor (Ind.), scoring seven goals on just nine shots. He also recorded a pair of ground balls in the contest.

Two days later, Romero put away three of his five attempts in a win against Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio).

For the year, Romero has recorded 26 goals with 10 assists. He has also produced 11 ground balls and two caused turnovers.

The award is the second for WPU this year.
