William Penn Falls to #13 in First Poll

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s basketball team was forced down a few rungs after suffering its first loss of the season as the NAIA released its first top-25 poll Wednesday.

WPU (3-1) dropped six spots from the preseason ranking and is now #13 with 313 points. It is the 61st-consecutive time the Statesmen have been in the top 25.

William Penn is one of two teams from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the top 25 as Evangel moved up to #22. MidAmerica Nazarene is on the outside looking in at #26 unofficially.

Arizona Christian continues to be first in the nation with 560 points at 19 first-place votes. Thomas More (Ky.) is second with the final top nod, while Grace (Ind.), College of Idaho, and Jamestown (N.D.) round out the top five.
