Both Statesmen Squads Qualify for NAIA Nationals
Oskaloosa–Both the William Penn men’s and women’s bowling teams will get to fight for NAIA hardware as they earned berths to the NAIA National Championship.
The Statesmen are one of 12 teams in each Championship, garnering at-large berths based off of impressive resumes. Five at-large bids were doled out for each tournament, while seven men’s teams and seven women’s teams received automatic qualifications with conference titles.
The second annual Championship will be held at Five Star Lanes in Sterling Heights, Mich. from March 24-26. The opening day will consist of 24 total Baker games that will determine seeding for the double-elimination match play that will run on the second and third day.
The Statesmen men were 1-2 at last year’s inaugural event, while the women are making their first actual appearance at the NAIA Championship. Both teams also qualified in 2020, but the event was cancelled due to COVID.
