Deviska Wins First Career POW Award

Oskaloosa–Kenedy Deviska (Sr., Pignon, Haiti, Wellness and Recreation) is one of the best players in William Penn men’s soccer history and he received some new recognition as he was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Monday.

The award is the first of Deviska’s career, one that has seen him post 42 goals to tie Joe Druppel for the program record. Deviska managed three scores last week as William Penn won both of its games and extended its winning streak to a program record-tying seven.

Deviska scored once and assisted once in WPU’s 5-1 victory over Culver-Stockton last Wednesday and then tacked on two more goals versus Evangel last Saturday. Warming up at the right time, he has scored in six-straight games (seven goals).

For the year, the senior now has 10 goals (three game-winners) with five assists for 25 total points. He has 97 career points, which is one shy of Druppel’s school record. This is the third-consecutive year in which he has scored at least 25 points.

The weekly award is the fourth for the team this fall. It is also the third week in a row that William Penn has picked up a laurel from the Heart.
