Statesmen Predicted Fourth in Heart Poll

Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s soccer team will again be considered a major contender as the 2021 Heart of America Athletic Conference Coaches’ Poll was recently released.

WPU, which was 12-9 (8-4 Heart) in 2020, is projected to finish fourth in the league. No point totals nor first-place vote tallies were available.

Defending national champion Missouri Valley owns the Heart’s top spot, while Central Methodist, which won the national crows in 2018 and 2019, is second.

MidAmerica Nazarene is also slotted ahead of the Statesmen, while Benedictine rounds out the top five. Baker, Park, Mount Mercy, Grand View, and Graceland wrap up the remaining programs in the top 10. Clarke, Culver-Stockton, and Evangel finish the poll.

William Penn’s 2021 campaign is set to begin on Tuesday, August 24 with a home matchup versus Iowa Wesleyan. The squad is scheduled to play nine home games this fall at Drost Field.
