Statesmen Again in Receiving Votes Section

Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s soccer team is playing its best ball of the season and is being rewarded for it as the NAIA released its fourth top-25 poll Wednesday.

WPU (12-7, 8-4 Heart), which is in the rating for the second time this year, is unofficially #36 with five points. The program was 33rd nationally in early March.

The navy and gold are one of four representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the ranking. Central Methodist has been the NAIA’s wire-to-wire #1, currently holding first with 498 points and all 18 first-place votes. Missouri Valley is #4, while MidAmerica Nazarene is #19.

William Penn has bolstered its national tournament hopes by winning all four of its spring games entering Wednesday night’s Heart Semifinal matchup with Central Methodist.

Oklahoma Wesleyan and Columbia are second and third, respectively, while Dalton State is fifth in the country.
