Council Approves Third Reading Of Sewer Rate Increase

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa City Council met in regular session on Monday, February 3rd, 2020.

The evening’s agenda was a light one.

The Council considered a resolution rezoning the property located at 418 High Ave East from community commercial district to R3, residential district.

This was the first reading for the zoning change, and the Council voted in favor of the change.

The Council voted on a resolution to increase the sanitary sewer rates.

The plan has been to increase revenue to the sanitary sewer system by 8 percent.

The Council approved the third and final reading of the resolution to increase sanitary sewer rates.

The city also set a public hearing date for the maximum property tax dollars. That hearing is set for Tuesday, February 18th, 2020, during the Council meeting.
