Pierre Ranked in Preseason Polls

Oskaloosa–Darquell Pierre (Sr., St. Petersburg, Fla., Sociology) will open his final collegiate season as one of the top grapplers at his weight class as the NAIA released its preseason wrestling polls this week.

The 133-pounder is ranked fifth in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and 18th in the nation.

As a team, William Penn is eighth in the Heart with 12 points, while Grand View is first with 212 points. Nationally, the Statesmen are tied for 45th with three points. Grand View also tops the NAIA’s rating with 169 points, while Reinhardt (Ga.), Marian (Ind.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), and Campbellsville (Ky.) round out the top five.
