Oskaloosa–Austin Munoz (Sr., Harrisville, Utah, Sports Management) had numerous big moments between the pipes last week as he was again named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Monday.

Munoz earned his third career honor (second in a row and second this year) following a pair of big Statesmen wins last week, including a road victory over Benedictine, a squad unofficially ranked 26th in the NAIA.

The senior’s week began with a quiet night against Culver-Stockton, collecting one save against one goal allowed–a penalty kick. He was then tested on numerous occasions against Benedictine last Saturday, posting seven stops (one goal permitted) as WPU won 2-1 in double overtime.

For the year, Munoz is 5-1 with a 0.98 Goals Against Average and two shutouts. He has recorded 22 saves this fall.

The award is the second of the year for WPU.
