7th Grade Girls Tackle The Tigers

The 7th grade girls basketball team took on the Grinnell Tigers last night in three very physical games. The Oskaloosa A team came out a little slow against Grinnell as the girls struggled to stay composed during the press breaker which resulted in many turnovers. Our intensity increased in the 2nd quarter and into halftime, but the girls were down 9-29 at half. However, they battled hard and began to stay composed in the second half as they outscored the Tigers during the second half 15- 13. The final score was 24-42 in favor of the Tigers.

The Oskaloosa B team went back and forth with Grinnell the whole game. The halftime score was 2-7 but the Indians ended up falling 12-19. The team fought hard the whole game, but just couldn’t make enough baskets to keep up with the Tigers.

The Oskaloosa C team had many girls playing during the game. This one was a nail bitter as the Indians and Tigers were basically tied the whole game. The halftime score was 4-4, and Chayce Dewitt made a wonderful game winning shot that went in as the buzzer sounded! The final score was 13 – 12 as the C girls picked up their first WIN!!

A team scoring: Lucy Roach 10, Presley Blommers 9, Maleah Walker 2, Kynedi Humphrey 2
B team scoring: Maddy Moorman 4, Kaia Cook 4, Ivy Hines 2, Audree Cheney 1
C team scoring: Raelynne Callen 6, Chayce Dewitt 5, Reona Stout 2
