62-Year-Old Man Airlifted After Parachuting Accident in Knoxville, Iowa

Knoxville, Iowa – A 62-year-old man from Urbandale, Iowa, is in critical condition following a skydiving accident at the Knoxville Municipal Airport. The incident occurred around 2:24 PM today, according to Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholt.

The man had jumped from approximately 15,000 feet, and it was reported that he began experiencing issues with his parachute around the 4,000-foot mark. Witnesses observed him spiraling before hitting the ground.

Emergency services responded promptly to the scene. The injured man was airlifted to Des Moines for urgent medical treatment due to the severity of his injuries.

Further details regarding the cause of the parachute malfunction and the current condition of the man are yet to be released. Sheriff Sandholt indicated that an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the accident.
