2nd Annual Iowa 4-H Gala to be held February 19, 2011 in West Des Moines

This event will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines on Saturday, February 19 from 6-11 p.m. and is open to anyone. The My 4-H. My Commitment Gala benefits the Iowa 4-H Foundation and Iowa 4-H’ers. Special guests for this year’s event include WHO TV 13’s Erin Kiernan and Sonya Heitshusen (both 4-H Alum), State 4-H Director Chuck Morris, Interim Vice President of Extension & Outreach Jerry Miller and The Mother of 4-H’s (Jessie Field Shambaugh) four granddaughters. A live and silent auction will be held at this event with one-of-a-kind auction items available for bidding. Some of the live auction items include getaways to Colorado, Napa Valley, Hawaii, Costa Rica and an Alaskan or Caribbean cruise, an Iowa 4-H Coke Machine, Disney Dream Vacation and more. Some of the silent auction items include Tupperware, Longaberger, Iowa Speedway, Drake and UNI sports packages, Jewelry, Omaha Zoo passes, Mall of America FunFest family package, a trip to New York, toolset from Lowe’s and lots of 4-H and Iowa merchandise packages. This event will be a lot of fun and well worth the registration fee! Heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served, a 4-H Program will be presented, the Auctions will take place and entertainment will be provided by FreeStyle later in the evening.
