Young FFA and 4-H’ers presented with feed choices for their show animals
It may not seem like a big deal, unless your one of the many young FFA and 4H’ers that raise show animals.
What may seem a simple choice for feed can be a major decision for the animals owner. The health of the animal, and it’s appearance can make or break a years worth of work for the young showman.
So, they came to the DAV building on the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds on March 3rd from 4 to 7 to get more information on raising show animals.Individuals from Kent feeds and Moor Mans were on hand to give information on their show feeds and what they can do to help in raising the animal for competition. They also served some supper that included sloppy joes, baked beans, chips and your choice of tea or water.
“The purpose here is to try to get the participants of 4-H and FFA some more information”, said Todd Parker with ADM Alliance Nutrition, “It gives some tips on how to feed, how to show, how to do some things.”
