Young Ambassadors Winners Announced

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Main Street Young Ambassador Contest winners were announced in a gala event at the Penn Central Mall Monday evening.

All participants, ages three through kindergarten, of the Young Ambassadors Contest were introduced by Master of Ceremonies, Charlie Comfort of KBOE radio. Music was provided by Bob Ballard of Spinners DJ. The Oskaloosa High School Storybook Players provided entertainment for the children. Santa made a special appearance.

Local merchants sponsored the children’s canisters. Money placed in the canister was considered votes.

This year Princess winner is Addison VanderBeek, daughter of Zack and Carrie VanderBeek. Prince winner is Ayden Fynnardt, son of Kelcey and Eddie Fynaardt.

This year, proceeds will go to the Oskaloosa Kids Corner and The Main Street Lighted Christmas Parade.

Those participating in addition to our winners are Aiden Feist, Braxton Lewis, Damian Sunkle, Drake Heeren, Dawson Roozeboom, Dylan Roozeboom, Jerry Marshall Groom, Reyon Turner Basham, Alexis Anderson, Braylie Teeter, Kiara Luecht, Jordyn Greatbatch and Stevie Fox.

Gifts provided for all children were donated from local merchants which included Mahaska Drug, Dr. Tom Bowie, HyVee, Gardner Collier Jewelry, Book Vault, Debbie’s Merle Norman, KBOE Radio, Swim Sports and Engraving, Brown’s Shoe fit, Oskaloosa Herald, William Penn University and TruBank.

All participants are invited to help spread the magic of Christmas by riding on the Clow Train in the Lighted Christmas Parade “All that Glitters and Glows”, Thursday, December 4, 2014. Hope to see you at the Parade!
