Yoga for Gardeners

Spring is a high-impact time in the garden, yoga can help with the wear and tear caused by repetitive physical activity in the garden. The Mahaska County Master Gardeners are hosting Veronica Grim, as a speaker on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 7:00 pm. She will present “Yoga For Gardeners”. Her presentation will be held at the Mahaska County Extension Office, 212 North I Street Oskaloosa.

Veronica has taught Yoga at the Book Vault and YMCA for many years; she is certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), has 500 hours as a Registered Yoga Teacher and has been trained through YogaFit. Come learn about the movement and postures of yoga, and learning about a practice to use before and/or after your landscape beautification efforts.

This event is FREE, open to the public and for anyone wishing to learn about the topic. Prior registration is NOT required, but appreciated. Mahaska County Master Gardeners are celebrating their seventeenth year. The local program organized after the county held their first training. The educational volunteer program, sponsored by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, provides current, research based, home horticulture information and education to the citizens of Iowa through programs and projects. Master Gardeners receive horticulture training, and volunteer to promote a mission of education and service. The program is open to anyone 18 or older with an interest in gardening and a willingness to use their knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to make a positive impact on their local community. Mahaska County anticipates offering a Master Gardener training in Late summer/ fall 2020.
