WPU Up to #27 in Fourth

Oskaloosa–Despite not playing yet this spring, the Statesmen women’s golf team moved up one spot as the NAIA released its fourth top-25 poll last Friday.

The Statesmen are unofficially 27th with 46 points. The navy and gold enter the spring having posted two tournament wins, a match-play title, a runner-up finish, and a third-place effort last fall.

WPU is the only team from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the poll.

Following the tragedy that befell its golf teams, University of the Southwest (N.M.) was honored as the #1 team, tying with Oklahoma City for the top spot and garnering all 17 first-place votes.

Keiser (Fla.) is second, while British Columbia, Dalton State (Ga.), and SCAD Savannah (Ga.) conclude the top five.

William Penn is in Silvis, Ill. Monday and Tuesday to host the TPC Deere Run Invitational at TPC Deere Run Golf Course.
