Marshall, Mo.–The Statesmen wrestling team was unable to put up much of a fight against one of the top teams in the NAIA as William Penn fell 48-0 to #2 Missouri Valley in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual meet Monday.

WPU (1-2, 0-1 Heart) was short-handed in its pre-holiday finale, forfeiting three separate weights.

Unfortunately, only four bouts went the distance, including the first three of the evening as 125-pounder John Altieri (Jr., Warwick, R.I., Sociology), 133-pounder Jeremy Andujar (Sr., Tampa, Fla., Biology), and 141-pounder Tyshon Cannon (Jr., LaGrange, Ga., Psychology) were all defeated by decision.

Next Up: William returns from the break on January 6, traveling to Pella to compete in the Central Invitational. Action begins at 9 a.m.
