Oskaloosa–The William Penn Athletics Department is excited to announce the launch of the Statesmen Sports Network, beginning with the August 22 home soccer doubleheader against Waldorf.

William Penn has inked a deal with BlueFrame to provide Statesmen Nation with high-quality 1080p HD video as well as audio broadcasts of live and on-demand (archived) events. While fans will be able to watch events on their computers or portable devices, the deal will also place that content on numerous Over The Top (OTT) applications such as iOS, Android, Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku.

In addition to games being available on the internet and OTT, which are free of charge to fans, individuals in the Oskaloosa and surrounding area can also watch navy and gold contests on MCG’s ‘local-access’ channels, Channels 7 or 12. This fall’s football games will also be available on KMZN 99.5 FM and 740 AM.

“We strive to be on the cutting edge of technology, and we believe we are doing this by partnering with BlueFrame,” Assistant Athletic Director for Communications Wade Steinlage said. “We are excited for our fans to not only continue to follow their Statesmen online, on TV, and on the radio, but now they can also watch on their big-screen TVs through the various OTT applications BlueFrame is offering. We hope our SSN acronym and will be used as frequently in our fans’ lives as another famous SSN–Social Security Number!”

The Statesmen Sports Network will provide WPU fans coverage of ALL WPU home events, including football, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling, softball, and baseball with others possible as well. The softball team will continue to offer its fans road ‘audio’ broadcasts as well, while William Penn will also be unveiling a weekly coaches show this fall. The one-stop shop for all WPU athletics events will be located on the William Penn Athletics website at http://www.statesmenathletics.com/SIDHelp/watch.php

The Statesmen Network is a product of the Athletic Communications Department and provides opportunities for William Penn University students to gain hands-on experience in the different facets of producing a live video broadcast.
