Woods & Stanton Win Thrillers At Caleb Hammond Memorial At Southern Iowa Fair

Oskaloosa, Iowa: The infield was packed with race cars and great crowd attended the races for the Caleb Hammond Memorial as the Southern Iowa Fair was in full swing.
The Mid states Machine Stock Cars provided the main event of the night with an outstanding field of 18 drivers taking the green. Cayden Carter and Nathan Wood battled lap after lap with Wood taking a very close win.
Cayden Carter subbing for Maguire DeJong dominated the Oskaloosa Sportmods taking a comfortable wiin ahead of Doug McCollough.
24 Parker Tree Service Hobby Stocks took the green for their main event and the race saw a pack of five cars battle for the lead for much of the race, when the checkers flew it was Eric Stanton taking a 1/2 car length win over Aaron Martin.
Bob Hayes broke a very long dry spell in scoring the win in the Dirt N Asphalt Sport Compact main event.
Ben Woods won a accident marred Clow Valve Company Non Wing Sprint car main. Two cars rolled but fortunately no serious injuries were reported.

Wednesday, July 26 will be the 2023 Season Championships at the Sothern Iowa Speedway. Hot laps will get underway at 7:15 pm.
